About AutoMark

AutoMark is test marking software for Australian classroom teachers. It reads scanned, handwritten answers, marks them against the teacher's answer key, and brings uncertain readings back to the teacher with the scan beside them. You confirm every mark before it is recorded.

The company behind the product

AutoMark at automarkhq.com is made by Labre Pty Ltd, an Australian company, ACN 701 832 484. We build for individual teachers who set tests on paper and want help with the marking that follows.

Other products also use the name AutoMark. This website and the AutoMark teacher app belong together. We are not affiliated with automark.io; our comparison page explains the distinction.

What AutoMark does

Build a test and its answer key, print the papers from AutoMark, and scan the completed class set. AutoMark reads each answer and checks the reading against the scan. You resolve flagged answers, check the student matches, and confirm the results before they reach student records.

That workflow covers structured answers such as multiple choice, numbers, short written answers and spelling tests. The first-test walkthrough shows how the paper and answer key fit together.

Where the teacher's judgement belongs

A scan can be faint. A student can give a fair answer the key missed. A paper can have an unreadable name. These need a teacher's decision, and the review step gives you the original work to make it. AutoMark does not mark essays or replace judgement about an argument, explanation or extended piece of writing.

There is no automatic publishing of results. You can accept another answer, override a mark, and check the results before committing. Our review queue guide explains those decisions.
