AutoMark pricing — $16.50 a month plus $1.10 per student
One plan, in Australian dollars, with every feature in it and the marking included in the per-student price. You confirm every mark before it's recorded.
One plan, two numbers
$16.50 a month for the account, plus $1.10 a month for each student on your roster. A class of 25 is $16.50 + $27.50 = $44.00 a month.
The $1.10 is a seat, not a bundle of pages: it is what one student costs to have in AutoMark for a month — their papers, their marks, their record across every test — and their marking comes with it. Each seat carries five marking credits a month, and credits you don't use roll over instead of expiring.
There is one plan, and nothing is held back for a higher tier: unlimited tests, unlimited classes, every question format, the review queue, the records and CSV export.
What a credit is
A credit is one scanned page marked. Not one test, not one question — one page. A two-page test sat by a class of 25 is 50 pages, so 50 credits.
Spelling pages are the exception, at three credits a page: a spelling answer is read letter by letter, exactly as written, rather than tidied into the word it was meant to be. More on marking spelling tests.
Before a run starts, AutoMark estimates the pages and checks them against your balance. A run either begins or tells you it can't — it never stops halfway through a class set.

The subscription half is the same sum every time. Three classes of 28 is 84 students: $16.50 + $92.40 = $108.90 a month, with 420 credits included against 336 used — 84 roll into the next month.
The spelling row is the honest one: 300 credits a month against the 125 included, so you would top up 200 credits for $55.00 — about $99.00 that month — and carry the spare 25 forward. Across a school year it is gentler than that, because credits keep accruing through the holidays.
Spelling is the one thing that reliably outruns the included credits. If you set it weekly for a full class, budget for a top-up — or run it on alternate weeks and stay inside the allowance.
Topping up
$27.50 per 100 credits, bought when you want them. Top-up credits go into the same balance as your included ones and roll over the same way. Your balance is in the app under billing, and the billing documentation walks through how credits are counted.
What the beta includes
A beta account is a two-month free trial of the whole product — no card to enter and nothing charged in that time — plus a one-time 100 marking credits on top of the per-student allowance, roughly two extra class sets. Nothing is charged until you enter a card, and we tell you before the trial ends.
The beta is currently full. New teachers join the waiting list, and we open places as we can.
Is it tax deductible?
For many teachers a subscription like this may be claimable as a work-related teaching expense — check with your accountant.
What you never pay for
- Unlimited tests and classes. Build as many as you teach, reuse them next term, no per-test fee.
- Every feature. No upper tier holds back the review queue, the records or the exports.
- Your data on the way out. Export any run or any student's record to CSV whenever you like.
- A card during the beta. You aren't asked for one to start.
Marking for a department
